Community Service
There are many issues in society that play manjor roles in our lives. I think that the top three issues are abortion, cancer, and poverty. Cancer is one of the most deadly diseases. There are many different types of cancer. The different type vary in the severity, but all kinds can be deadly. Now days there are many treatments for cancer but there isn't a real cure for it. A lot of money goes towards research centers. I think that people need to be more aware of the need for research. How can I help out? Well there are many ways. I could do some fundraising at a smaller level, give my support to everything, and set up a donation program.

Time Management
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. These are great words that tie directly into time management. Managing time is one of most important things a person can do. When I don't live up to my expectations because I didn' tmanage my time properly I feel like I let myself fail. The biggest consequence to not managing your time is not completing whatever it is that you are doing as well as you could have. When I manage my time well I feel that I have done my best. There are many steps to managing your time. First of all, have a schedule and stick to it. Secondly, prioratize what needs to be done first and work through everything else. These are just a couple of the many steps. Managing your time in college is totally different than in high school. In high school the teachers we always checking up on you along with your parents. In college you are on your own. I think that I manage my time pretty well. However, there is always room for improvement. There are many articles on the internet about how to manage your time. One site I found is exclusively about time management. There are also some sites that talk about time management in college. I have read some things about a step by step process to managing your time. All of these sites are good resources to learn how to manage your time better.

Butler Resources
A freshmen in college has to deal with many new things. For example, it is the first time living away from home. Also the college teachers do not baby the students like many high school teachers do so it is easy to feel lost. Here at Butler there are many resources available to students who feel just like Brook. For academic problems, a tutor could be an option. This is the link to the tutoring program that Butler provides peer-tutoring. Another academic resource at Butler is the Gayle Krause Learning Lab where student can go to receice help. A possible way of connecting with the right type of people to help u stay out of the drinking and partying would be to meet people on facebook that go to school here. You can do this by joining the Butler network. Part of learning to deal with the change of college is to get involved in your college's activities for students. Getting involved in activities will help connect to other students. One of the biggest challenges college students face is the matter of how to manage their time. Time management is one of the most important things for college students to learn.
